SHAPE Sony A7R3 cage 15 mm rod system

The SHAPE Sony A7R III Cage is targeted at filmmakers, videographers and photographers who want a simple, hassle-free and ergonomic cage design that really works.  Specifically designed for the Sony A7R III and A7 III cameras, the form-fitting cage offers additional protection and securely locks the camera to the cage. It also provides easy access to all controls and ports as well as multiple attachment points for accessories. 

The cage is connected to its base via the new SHAPE Quick Release Rod Base System using a specifically designed 15 mm rod bloc system for the optical center of the Sony A7R III camera. It allows quick mounting and dismounting of the camera and the cage can easily snap in and be quickly removed from its 15 mm LW base by pressing the release button at the rear of the mount for handheld shooting.

Changing the objective or adding a Metabones® Adapter can be done easily while keeping the camera in the cage. SHAPE created a removable Metabones® Adapter Support Bracket specifically designed for the Sony A7R III camera that is integrated in the cage. Fixed with 2 screws, the bracket’s height is easily adjustable and provides 15 mm of vertical adjustment. It supports the weight and reduces the stress on the camera lens mount. When there is no Metabones® Adapter, simply unscrew the 1/4?-20 screw to quickly remove the bracket.
