How to use Rosco e 129 Heavy Frost
1. Cut to size:
Determine the area you need to cover and cut the Rosco 3 129 diffusion material accordingly.
2. Mounting:
Gel Frame: For controlled diffusion, cut the material to fit a gel frame and attach it to the light's gel holder.
Barndoors: If you need to modify the light beam, attach the diffusion material to the barndoors. However, be mindful that placing diffusion material on barndoors can negate their effectiveness in controlling the light beam.
Clips or Frames: Use clips or frames to hold the diffusion material at varying distances from the light source, allowing you to adjust the softness and spread of the light.
3. Positioning:
Near the light: For a more focused, less diffused light, place the diffusion material close to the light source.
Far from the light: For a softer, broader light, move the diffusion material further away from the light source. The farther the diffusion, the larger the illuminated area becomes, resulting in a softer light.
4. Heat Considerations:
When using high-heat light sources like tungsten bulbs, ensure the diffusion material is not placed directly on the light source to prevent damage.
5. Experiment:
Different distances and positions will produce different effects. Experiment with the placement of the diffusion material to achieve the desired look for your specific lighting setup.
