Rosco Supersaturated Roscopaint - Chrome Yellow 0.95L
A unique acrylic paint, packaged in concentrated form. It is designed to be diluted with water, at least 1:1 and as much as 15:1. With such tremendous extendibility, Supersaturated offers the widest range of effects possible while being extremely economical to use.
On porous and non-porous surfaces, Supersaturated achieves vibrant, opaque color fields. It also creates bright, translucent washes where the color remains as intense as aniline dyes, without the health hazards associated with dyes.
Supersaturated Roscopaint is formulated with a unique binder that gives it superior adhesion, durability, and flexibility even on difficult surfaces like Rosco Projection Screens and Rosco Dance Floors. It can also be used as a tint for other paints, binders and coatings. Perfect for both interior and exterior projects.
Artist pigments
Rosco Supersaturated Paints are formulated with a high concentration of single-source, professional artist pigments. Its pure, artist-grade pigment content means that, unlike some other paints, when you mix Red with a Blue - you'll get purple, and not a muddy mix of lots of different pigments.
Supersaturated can be mixed together to give predictable results. As well, all are light fast. Colours will remain consistent under changing light conditions - on camera, when lit for film or TV; and under stage lights, in the theatre.
See the Supersaturated Colour Chart for the range of colours achievable.
Dilution
Rosco Supersaturated Paints should be diluted at least 1:1, with water, Rosco Clear Acrylic Glazes, or a combination of the two as necessary. Therefore, one litre of paint becomes at least two.
A 1:1 ratio will give you deep colours for more opaque applications. Diluting more heavily - up to 15:1 (water:glaze/paint) - will allow for shading techniques, translucent colour effects and “glazes”.
The ability to achieve so many different shades from just one container of paint, makes Supersaturated a versatile and economic choice for any scenic painting project, especially for large scale productions - on stage, or in the film & TV studio.
Flexible Binder
Supersaturated is a flexible vinyl paint, making it the ideal solution for painting backdrops for photography or theatre onto a flexible surface that might become subject to folding or rolling. Works on wood, plaster, metal, brick, stone, plastics, vinyls, muslin and other fabrics. It can also be painted onto Rosco Dance Floor. Create immersive backgrounds that can be rolled away and stored for another production and will resist cracking over time.
It is designed to maintain its binder strength while being diluted, however, diluting with more than 5 parts water may reduce adhesion. In this instance, add in Rosco Clear Acrylic Glaze as needed, to restore adhesion and flexibility.
Matte Finish
Its flat, matte finish ensures that Rosco Supersaturated Paint won’t look glossy when lit. Your scenic painting won’t reflect stage or studio lights, and can therefore be lit realistically and effectively to blend into the scene.
Application
Dilution: Dilute at least 1:1 with water, Rosco Clear Acrylic Glaze or a combination of the two as necessary. Diluting will reduce the color concentration and create "glaze" effects. Diluting with more than 5 parts water may reduce binder strength. Add in Rosco Clear Acrylic Glaze to restore adhesion and flexibility.Surface Preparation: Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dirt and grease. Prime porous surfaces, except fabrics, using Rosco Tough Prime. If painting a new plaster surface, prime wall with a commercial primer/sealer designed for raw plaster. Then use Rosco Tough prime as a final preparation.
Application: Stir contents well before each use. Apply by brush, roller, or spray gun. Apply in thin uniform coats, using a good quality brush or roller. Use overlapping strokes, keeping a wet edge. Change roller direction often to avoid patterns and streaking.
Film Thickness: 1:1 Dilution = 1.5 mil. Dry Film
Coverage: 3:1 Dilution = Approx. 300 sq. ft. per gallon (28 sq. m. per 3.79L), depending on substrate, application tool and film thickness.
Avg. Dry Time: At 75°F (24°C). Dries to the touch in 30-45 minutes. Can be recoated in 1-2 hours.
Clean-up: Soap and water.
