The only high-capacity battery that professionals need

It's black, it's bold, it's beautiful. eneloop pro is the high-capacity battery professionals trust when equipment failure is not an option. With a huge capacity of min. 2500/2450 mAh* for lasting power in high-drain devices, stable voltage performance, and quality that exceeds the highest standards of Japanese craftsmanship, eneloop pro is the first choice of professionals working in the field.

Longer life, trusted reliability

If you're in the middle of a job, the last thing you need is to mess around with batteries. eneloop pro has a deeper reserve of power with about 28%* more capacity than eneloop. Even the best alkaline batteries can't compete. They not only lack the capacity, but their voltage can drop below what your gear needs to function. By contrast, eneloop pro and eneloop maintain stable voltage right up until battery depletion. Your equipment works for longer, and you save with every charge.

Lasting power in a wide temperature range
Your eneloop pro batteries maintain excellent discharge performance even when used in heat and cold. The batteries are rated for use in temperatures between -20 °C and 50 °C, which is great if your work takes you into the great outdoors.

* Operation time will be shorter than operation time at room temperature and varies according to the equipment used.

Pre-charged with solar energy and ready to use
Before eneloop pro batteries are shipped, they're charged with solar energy at the factory as part of our participation in the Green Certificate system and the Panasonic Environment Vision 2050 initiative, where our company aims to generate more energy than we use by 2050. Of course, pre-charging means you can use it immediately after purchase.

Retains 85%* after one year
We've improved the metal-hydride alloy lattice inside your eneloop pro battery so that it retains 85%* capacity even after one year in storage. The design also resists voltage drop during discharge and minimizes loss of capacity. Once charged, you can trust eneloop pro to work just like a dry battery.

* Capacity is based on the testing method established by IEC 61951-2 (7.3.2) when stored at 20 °C (based on Panasonic's estimation) and compared with minimum capacity. Varies according to conditions of use.

Recharge up to 500 times*
Every time you reuse eneloop pro, you're saving on the cost of replacement dry batteries and reducing waste. Your investment pays for itself over the life of the product, and you'll feel great about doing your part for the earth.

* Testing method established by IEC 61951-2 2011 (7.5.1.3). 150 times based on IEC 61951-2 2017 (7.5.1.4). Varies according to conditions of use.

Made in Japan
Your eneloop pro is designed, manufactured, and tested in Japan to rigorous quality control standards and is available in about 70 countries* around the world. Use with the confidence that comes from products made to the highest standards of Japanese craftsmanship.

* For the eneloop series as of December 2021.

Works in a variety of devices
While eneloop pro has a slightly lower voltage than equivalent dry batteries, it works better in almost any device where standard batteries are used. From low-drain applications in computer mouses to high-drain equipment such as camera flashes, its high capacity and stable discharge voltage will power your gear for longer than most single-use alternatives.

Note: eneloop pro cannot be used in devices with an airtight battery compartment, such as water-proof flashlights.

Recharge anytime you want
Unique battery and charger technology suppresses the memory effect in eneloop pro batteries, which means you can top them up anytime without reducing their capacity. To avoid the memory effect with other rechargeable batteries, you may have to run them flat before you can recharge, which isn't always practical. With eneloop pro, you can recharge whenever you want without worrying about reduced battery life.

Note: Memory effect is a phenomenon that can occur in some types of rechargeable battery. The effect occurs when the battery is repeatedly recharged before it has been fully discharged, causing it to "remember" the shorter capacity and eventually leading to a decrease in overall battery life.

What's the difference between "best before" and "manufacturing date"?

The "best before" date printed on dry batteries is the period until optimal performance is guaranteed. Since eneloop batteries can be used repeatedly and the period varies depending on the conditions of use, the date of manufacture is stated instead. Thanks to their unique low self-discharge characteristics, if your purchase was within five years of manufacturing and depending on the storage conditions, you can use medium-capacity eneloop immediately without charging.

Can eneloop batteries (1.2 V) be used in devices where dry batteries (1.5 V) are typically used?

In general, most devices are designed to accommodate the characteristics of dry batteries and operate within a voltage range of 1.5 V to 0.9 V. While the initial voltage of eneloop is lower than dry batteries, they can maintain a steady discharge level for as long as they retain capacity. On the other hand, the output voltage of dry batteries, such as alkaline batteries, declines from the moment they are used. Thanks to this characteristic, eneloop can be used in devices where dry batteries are normally used, even with its lower initial voltage.

Can I use eneloop until the device stops working?

Using eneloop until the device stops working may lead to over-discharging. Over-discharging occurs when the device continues to draw power even after the battery has no usable capacity remaining. Some devices may also draw a weak current even when switched off. Over-discharging puts excessive stress on eneloop batteries and can shorten their lifespan. To extend the battery's life and maximize its charge/discharge cycles, it is advisable to recharge eneloop before the device stops working completely. Doing so can prevent over-discharging, prevent reductions in the number of charge/discharge cycles, and secure discharge performance.

How should I store my eneloop batteries?

Follow the guidelines below to secure battery life and optimize performance:

Store eneloop in its original packaging. That way, you can keep batteries of the same manufacturing date together. Storing eneloop in its original packaging also helps to prevent oxidization and short-circuits from accidental contact with metal objects.
Store eneloop at room temperature or in a cool, dry environment, and avoid areas of high humidity or direct sunlight. The ideal storage temperature range is 10–25 °C.
Storage in temperatures higher than 35 °C should be avoided, as it can influence the self-discharge rate.
In theory, cold temperatures are good for storing batteries. However, if eneloop is stored in a chilled area, such as a refrigerator, there is a high risk that condensation will form, leading to possible malfunction.
If eneloop is stored in a cold environment, it should ideally be left to reach room temperature before use for best performance. Do not heat eneloop.

How can I maximize the life of my eneloop batteries?

Follow the guidelines below to secure a long life and optimal performance:

Avoid leaving flat eneloop batteries in a device for an extended period without charging them, as it can damage the electrode (over-discharge) and shorten its lifespan.
Charge eneloop frequently. It's best to recharge eneloop batteries when they have consumed around 70% of their capacity. This reduces the chance of over-discharging, which is a major cause of battery damage.
Keep eneloop away from high temperatures, as elevated temperatures increase internal pressure leading to potential leaks and a shorter lifespan.
Don't share batteries between devices that are being used. For example, dedicate a group of 4 x AA eneloop batteries for use in a specific device. When an eneloop is taken out of the group, used in another device, and then replaced back into the original device, it may have a different power level than the others, resulting in uneven discharge levels among the batteries in the series and battery deterioration.
To maximize the performance of eneloop, it is important to use identical batteries, such as those with the same product code, batteries purchased together, and those with the same charging/discharging time.
Avoid using the same group of eneloop batteries in various devices that are subject to different usage conditions, as it will increase the performance gap between the batteries over time. Consider marking the batteries with a permanent marker to differentiate them for use in a specific device.
Regularly clean the eneloop battery terminals and the charger terminals with a dry cloth to prevent grease or dust from affecting their performance. Frequent cleaning will help maintain proper charging and discharging and prevent a reduction in discharge time.

How do I know when eneloop is at the end of its usable life?

You can look out for the following symptoms that may indicate your eneloop need replacing:

As eneloop is repeatedly charged and discharged, its usage time may gradually decrease. As a general guideline, consider replacing them when the usage time is reduced to about half the initial duration.
When using a quick charger, replacing eneloop is advisable if the charging time becomes noticeably longer. If you need to replace an expired eneloop in a device that uses multiple batteries, consider replacing all of them simultaneously to avoid performance issues. Poor contact between the battery and the terminals can also cause performance issues. In such cases, try cleaning the positive and negative terminals of the battery, device, and charger with a clean cloth.

How should I transport my eneloop batteries?

When transporting eneloop or storing them for an extended period, avoid contacting them with metallic objects such as keys, jewelry, coins, or mobile phones. Avoid keeping them in a metallic container, as it can short-circuit the battery, damaging it. If you require a carry case, using one made from resin is recommended, as it provides a safe and non-conductive environment for the batteries during transport or storage. By following these precautions, you can ensure the safety and optimal performance of your eneloop batteries.
