Panasonic have released their first box-style cinema camera, the Lumix BGH1 DC-BGH1GC Digital Single Mirrorless Camera, which is equipped with an impressive feature set perfect for professional cinematographers and videographers.
The small cube design makes it an extremely functional product, allowing for use in limited or tight spaces, the connection of accessories for camera control, as well as featuring fittings to attach accessories such as cages, gimbals and handles.
Versatile Operation
The light and compact design of this camera makes it extremely versatile and flexible. By using a Micro Four Thirds System mount, the camera takes advantage of the impressive interchangeable lens range. Additionally, its operation expands to being mounted on drones, IP remote control, direct live streaming and more.
As a means of achieving unlimited video recording, the BGH1 is equipped with a new heat dispersion structure, making it an ideal camera for lengthy shoots, like documentaries or interviews.
Pro-level Video Quality
Equipped with a 10.2 megapixel Live MOS Sensor with Dual Native ISO technology along with Panasonic’s Venus Engine, you can except to effortlessly capture crystal clear footage. With the ability to shoot 4:2:0 10-bit C4K/4K 60p / 50p internal video, the results are going to be incredibly sharp and clean. On top of this, the camera boasts an improved Deep Learning autofocus algorithm that provides a higher level of accuracy when detecting subjects such as humans, human faces and rapidly moving animals. The camera will continue to track a subject even if they are not facing the camera, allowing for greater flexibility when shooting.
The sensor can control a dual-base ISO setting, which dramatically reduces noise and provides a higher quality image. This allows you to expand your creativity and shoot in low-light situations without having to worry about a diminished quality video.
Simultaneous SDI/HDMI Output
To cater to the variety of needs of video production, the camera is fitted with an SDI terminal that can be simultaneously used with HDMI output. Remote control via USB or LAN ensures you have compromised production flexibility when it comes to remote or drone mounting shooting, multi-camera productions or live stream broadcasts.
