Grid Cloth is commonly used for soft boxes and compared to Sailing Cloth for boating. Grid Cloth gives a directionalsoftness that comes in different finishes and transmission levels that texturally range from a silky fell (Silent) to a paper like stiffness (Noisey) that give a variety of diffusion characteristics
A very common grade of ripstop diffusion used simultaneously with brand diffusion such as Lee and Rosco filters.
Grid cloth comes in Full, Half (Lite) and Quarter varieties. These extremely durable yet lightweight fabric is available in both ‚”Silent” and Noisy, the most popular by far being the “Silent” type, ideal for outdoor filming where wind might create sound issues.
