SANKEN CMS-10 STEREO / MONO SHOTGUN
Product code : SKN.CMS-10
Experience unparalleled audio quality with the Sanken CMS-10 Stereo Shotgun Microphone – the ultimate choice for HDTV broadcasting and professional video production.
The Sanken CMS-10 is the world's first camera-mount stereo shotgun microphone, developed in collaboration with NHK for HDTV broadcasting during the Nagano Winter Olympics. Since its debut, it has set the industry standard for HD camera microphones. Compact and lightweight, the CMS-10 delivers exceptionally high-resolution audio to complement today's advanced picture quality.
Utilizing M-S design, the CMS-10 offers both stereo and mono outputs with superior frontal directionality and effective rejection of sounds from the sides and back. This makes it ideal for noisy shooting environments or reverberant spaces. The built-in Mono/Stereo switch allows you to output a highly directional mono signal to both L/R channels or a L/R stereo signal. The CMS-10 also features a unique second-order pressure gradient design, combining multiple cardioid elements in a front-back array for precision directional response.
For episodic television, film/video documentaries, and major broadcast events, the CMS-10 excels in capturing targeted sounds with the added option of realistic stereophonic perspectives. Engineers often struggle with stereo localization and sonic consistency using multiple microphones, but the CMS-10's optimized pattern control in the 400Hz to 3kHz range ensures accurate signal separation and clarity. The result is a playback that accentuates the frontal image, with side signals positioned slightly behind.
The CMS-10's condenser elements use exclusive PPS diaphragms, providing exceptional response and stability in varying humidity and temperature conditions. Its compact size (8.3", 211mm) and lightweight design (6 oz, 170g) make it highly portable, while the attached 10" (.26m) cable with standard XLR5 connector ensures easy integration into your setup.
Upgrade your audio equipment with the Sanken CMS-10 and experience the highest-quality HDTV audio for your professional video productions.
